I know, I know, I stink at updates. I haven't blogged since last August
and honestly I'm not sure why. I love blogging and the outlet it gives
me.
In recent months we've watched our children grow a ton.
Megan is up two sizes in clothes, Emma is as tall as me and wears a size
10 shoe and my 20 month old is wearing 24 month clothing. Its crazy
how fast time passes. Emma is a young woman, Megan a young lady and
Aubrey is a little girl....a baby no more.
Lots of things have been happening on the home front for us....last year we signed a contract for a home in Stonebridge
in Lebanon. Through many trials and Gods leading (new house on
contingency, losing the house, current house on the market, a ton of
views and no good offers) we realized we needed to stay where we are.
God was shaping our hearts to be happy with what we have and make this
work. We are currently in the approval stages with a lender to get an
addition. If all goes as planned, we will have a 4th bedroom, 3rd full
bath and a bonus room. This will allow us to stay near some great
neighbors we've met and are starting to form relationships with, stay in
this great area close to everything, close to Patricks
work and for us to be in a good school system without spending a ton of
money. Even after the addition we will be 10s of thousands of dollars
less than selling and rebuying. Please say a prayer that it will all work out. THIS TIME!!!
Now that we are staying the smaller house we have been in
reorganization mode. We have to optimize the space we do have. We
turned our hallway linen closet into a coat closet (there is a linen
closet in the bathroom as well so we still have one). We've sold our
dining room furniture, ALL of our bedroom furniture and we are starting
over. We're turning our formal living room into an office/craft/play
room. Its a work in progress but we've got the wainscoting up. Patrick
built it!!! :) He got a miter saw so he's happy!! :) See how good he
did!!!
I took up sewing a few months ago with the help of the Thorne
women (Malorie Meadows and her Mom Pam, part of my extended Painter
family). So I've been working on sewing some new curtains for our
bedroom. We bought a platform bed that has 12 drawers (6 on each side)
with the proceeds of the sell of other stuff. We bought an oval table
for our eat in kitchen...now that Aubrey sits in a chair not a high
chair....$75 for a table and 4 chairs (didn't need the chairs but hey,
we'll figure it out. I painted it black and viola. (see below guys this was so easy) Now we are trying
to reorg closets, cabinets etc. Stay tuned for more updates :)
Aubrey met Santa this year for the first time. She's not a fan!! Maybe next year....
On
January 2 Aubrey started a real daycare (School we call it) and she's
doing great. Mt Juliet Early Learning Center has been a real blessing
for us and Aubrey gets to be around kids her age as well. Her
vocabulary right now is crazy...everything is "hot", she says "I wash my
hands", she says her name, yesterday she yelled as Patrick was putting
her in the carseat
"I want my Mommy!!" - must say that melted my heart. Shes definitely
in a mommy phase. This morning I had her turn off her humidifier and I
said good job - she repeated me. I said now the sound machine she said
"sound"? She also points to her privates and says my peepee my peepee - yay for potty training. Oh and everything is "mine".
Thats
the best I can update for now. One of my New Years Resolutions (life
resolutions for me) is to blog and keep my thoughts more. Other than
what you see here - our lives are pretty boring. Normal everyday family
life....school, work basketball, kids church.....and I love every
minute of it. We are blessed. Please help hold me accountable to post
more.. :)
