The Last Week or so

Just wanted to post and let everyone know about our week this past week....On Thursday the 22nd I started having contractions, I wasn't worried but did note the time and begin to count them, Dr. Thompson had said 6 in an hour then call her. I had 8 in one hour and called Dr. Thompson -well I was told to head straight to Labor and Delivery - so I freaked (cried a bit) called Patrick, let my boss know and headed out to the hospital. WOW what a crazy feeling - we were still 5 weeks out and I wasn't ready....panic began to set in..my bag wasn't packed, no carseat, then OH NO my legs aren't even shaved...I was so embarassed but as they say you lose all modesty when you're having a baby!! We got to the hospital and we're taken into a Labor and Delivery Room - I put on my stylish hospital gown and got hooked up to the monitor. Good LORD they are coming at 1 to 2 minutes apart at this point. I was dialated to 1.5cm and 50% effaced. Kathy "The Super Nurse" headed out to call Dr. Thompson - they decided to give me a shot of Terbutaline and said I could have 3 shots of that to try and stop it and if that didn't work one of two things would happen....an IV or labor. So we waited after about 2 hours the contractions had slowed enough they checked me again and sent me on home.

We had our 35 week checkup on 4/28 with Dr. Thompson, because of last weeks episdode she began to check me this time instead of next week. Well guess what....now in 5 days I'm 3 cm dialated and 75% effaced. I wish I could've seen mine and Patricks faces...I knew I'd been feeling something but man didn't expect that. I had told her I packed my bag and all and she said "that sounds like a good idea" - she sent me out the door with the token "if I don't see you before then I'll see you next Wednesday"! So now....we wait. I've defintely dropped...so she'll come in her time and Gods time.

Several things to be thankful for this week...my husband, my girls and my family and friends. I ask that you pray for a safe and easy delivery when Aubrey does decided to make her appearance. I also ask that you pray for our family as this transition happens. Everyone knows that we are a blended family and my heart is especially softened toward Emma and Megan right now as their worlds change also. Just pray that Patrick and I have the guidance to make sure everyone feels safe, secure and loved during this process.

Also big shout out to my very own Mama with her birthday this past Monday the 26th. Happy 61st Birthday I love you!
